I am thinking about getting the LG 42PC5D plasma tv. The TV will mostly be used playing an xbox 360. I have heard a lot about plasma burn-in with video games, but I have also heard that in recent years the technology has advanced so that it does not burn-in so much. Is this true and has anyone used a plasma for a lot of video games?

I don’t know much about the new tv’s except 1080p is the best. What kind, plasma, lcd, dlp, or something else and what brand should i get? I also heard something about images getting burned into the screen with video games, how can i avoid that?

If I play video games on a plasma screen TV will it burn into the screen even if I remember to turn the TV off as soon as I get done playing the game. I thought if I shut it off as soon as I was done I wouldn’t have any burn in. Let me know if there is any way that I can still play games and have the plasma TV too! Thanks!

I’m looking to get a tv that I will use to play games on. I want to get a Plasma because I want a tv in the 50″ range, but I’ve been hearing a lot about burn-in risks with plasma and video games. Has anyone had this problem or does anyone use a plasma for gaming without this problem?
I should probably clarify that I am not wondering which is better (I have an LCD now and I like it). I just want to know if the burn-in problem is a major issue and should prevent me from getting a Plasma.
