Question about the Samsung plasma whitewash option for burn in?

exactly a week ago, i have bought a 42 inch samsung plasma that was manufactured last january 2008 as it says on the back, i have heard about this burn in problems and i also read about the whitewash option that is available to protect the screen from burn in, but they said the more you use the whitewash option, it lessen the life expectancy of your plasma? how true is this? thank you and 10 pts for the best answer.

    It will shorten the life expectancy of the PHOSPHOR if you use it too much…

    So the BEST thing to do is AVOID burns in the first place, and only use it sparingly when, and IF you see burns on your plasma display….
